Too Charming

When we first met, I said you were too charming. What I really meant to say was that something about you was disarming.

From across the table, I saw understanding eyebrows, kind eyes, and a reassuring smile. On two sides of you perched open ears that listened to me for awhile. Later, I found dependable shoulders atop a strong chest that encased a very big heart.

I know I’ve said a lot, but here’s the most important part: What I mean to say is that I love the parts of you, but I also love you as a whole. Thanks for being there for me and for offering your hand to hold.
