You’re walking down a sidewalk. The sidewalk slopes down from where you’re walking and then glides up again in the distance. In that distance, you see a someone else walking on the same sidewalk. It’s too far away for you to tell if this person is walking towards you or away from you. You continue to walk.
After several strides, you are able to discern that this person is walking towards you. Step by step, you get closer and closer to this person. This person starts to look familiar. Too familiar. This person is you. This is the person you will be a year from now.
Take a minute to think about what future you looks like. This is your imagination, so get creative in building this image of future you—inside and out. Do you want to see a person who experiences more joy in everyday life? Maybe you want this person to have accomplished something you’ve always wanted to do but never made the time for.
It’s time to do what you need to do in order to meet this ideal future you in yourself.
